Computer Dispatcher Pro

This product is in beta. No orders accepted!
Beta 3 release date is TBD.

Computer Dispatcher Pro Server software is the modeler’s version of Train Driver Professional (by Train Track Computer Systems, Inc. www.traintrack.com ) a state of the art centralized traffic control program that is in use at 21 class I and regional railroads.  KAM Industries has licensed this software and integrated it into Train Server® software interface for use with model railroad command and control system.  Computer Dispatcher PRO  (CDPRO) is used for Model Railroad operations where the model train layout is controlled by a group of dispatchers operating over a local netowrk or a wide area network.  Computer Dispatcher Pro supports the latest Microsoft operating systems ( Win CE (PC2002-03, Mobile 5.x), Win 200x, Windows XP, Vista 32/64 and .NET servers).

Computer Dispatcher Pro features

  • Administrative configuration center
  • Track editor for layout creation
  • Layout compiler and syntax checker
  • Dispatcher display of railroad including multiple windows, views, Zoom-in/Zoom-out, print screen and wide views.
  • History log for command recording playback of dispatcher commands
  • Command control device activation via Train Server technology.

Computer Dispatcher Pro is a distributed software package.  KAM’s train server interface allows this software to run locally on a single computer, or distributed across multiple computer systems on a network.

  • At home running on a single computer system hooked into your model railroad
  • Distributed with application security for administrators, dispatchers, and trainees for large layout control.

Administrative Control

Computer Dispatcher also features an administrative control center.  The administrative center is designed to simulate the production environment on your model layout for dispatching and operation.

  • The Administrative Control center sets all standards for workstation functions, security, access, network and territory (multiple DCC segments) control.
  • Define the users and passwords for controlling the layout
  • Distributed workstation management for large operation.
  • Allows advance configuration options for distribution of Computer dispatcher components in a true client server model.

Track Layout editor

Layout is simple with Computer Dispatcher Pro software.  The layout design process begins with the creation of the layout CTC representation from the actual model railroad layout, or using one of the prototype Class I railroads and regional railroads included with the software.

Layout Syntax checker

Once a layout is created, the layout is validated via the syntax checker and track compiler.  This ensures that your changes are correct and compatible for both Computer Dispatcher Pro viewer, and the Train server interface to your model railroad layout.  The compiled process translates the track design into elements that are visible for the dispatcher panel and the model railroad layout.

Dispatcher display panel

Computer Dispatcher Pro features a full CTC panel for visual identification of operation of the railroad.  The CTC panel gives the dispatcher a streamlined look at the layout in a small window or in a system view.

The track layout display is an active display.  All signals, switches and track segments are designed to send or receive commands from the model railroad layout.   Train locations are stacked on the appropriate segment either using transponder technology or dispatcher placement. The command syntax follows the standards set by the class I and regional railroads

History Log and playback capability

Computer Dispatcher Pro includes a complete history log that records all of the dispatcher actions on a running session.  This log of dispatcher actions is fully FRA (Federal Railway Act) compliant.

The history log gives a record for operations.  KAM has extended this format to provide the modeler the capability to play back the operation sequence with the dispatcher display panel.  This allows the modeler to repeat a sequence of actions from a dispatching section.
