Train Tools® Compatibility

KAM has been producing Train Tools® model railroad software since 1991 and is the leading supplier of DCC software for the model railroad industry. All of KAM's software is scale independent, internet enabled and supports all popular command stations. Train Tools software is a collection of model railroad programs.   It has been 10 years since KAM introduced a new concept in Model Railroad software. Train Tools Windows Vista Support

Train Tools Software build 312 and later support Windows Vista. As we become aware of Windows vista related issues these issues and resolution will be posted in this section.

	Version	Issue	Description
	All Versions	1.	Run the registration tool after you install the Train Tools software.  The tool is located in the menu group "Train Tools/Train Server Tools".  Build 312 and later will automatically launch this tool after the installation.
	Build 312	1.	Supported under all versions of Vista with the following exceptions a.  Raildriver Driver USB software (contact www.raildriver.com). b.  USB drivers that are not certified by OEM manufacturer. c.   Microsoft SQL Express 2005 must be installed
	Build 311	1.	Supported under all versions of Vista
	Build 310	1.	Not supported on Vista

Train Tools Windows Exception Reports

Train Tools Software build 312 and later have been integrated into Microsoft Windows Quality reporting service. When an exception is reported by our customers, Microsoft collects this information and notifies KAM of potential software incompatibilities. We use this information to improve the Train Tools software products and release maintenance upgrades. 

	Module	Issue	Descrption
	DccCommander	1.	DCC Commander requires Microsoft's SQL Server Express 2005 to be installed with the permission to run Microsoft Visual Studio Express.  If this is not installed correctly, then DccCommander will not function correctly.
	AppServer	1.	System crash32: Upgrade to version 4.30.0.312.  This problem may still existing, and it is due to a timming syncronization between the OS and the permission structure.
	Parser.dll	1.	System crash32: Upgrade to version 4.30.311. Version 310 reports an exception on some packets received from the command station.
		2.	If you are running sd-jukebox.exe, contact Panasonic for an upgrade for your MP3 player.   Panasonic is using an invalid com windows component.
